Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT English

I received a 35 on the ACT and am a Linguistics major at Dartmouth. I am very comfortable with the English section and have been tutoring it for three years.

ACT Math

I took the ACT and received a 35 on the math section. I have tutored the ACT for 3 years and am very skilled in all of the math components.

ACT Reading

I received a 35 on the ACT and am a Linguistics major at Dartmouth. I am very comfortable with the Reading section and have been tutoring it for three years.

ACT Science

I received a 35 on the ACT and am very comfortable with the Science section. I have been tutoring the ACT for three years.

Algebra 1

I took Algebra 1 in middle school and have used these skills throughout my later algebra and calculus classes.

Algebra 2

I took Honors Algebra I and II in school and have used my Algebra experience in higher math classes such as AP Calculus BC and Multivariable Calculus.

English

I took AP English Language and AP English Literature in high school and have developed my English skills as a Linguistics major at Dartmouth.

Geometry

I took Honors Geometry in high school and have been tutoring with Geometry for the past three years as it appears on the SAT, Math SAT II, and the ACT.

GMAT

I received a 740 on the GMAT (Q50, V41) and have tutored the test for over five years.

Grammar

I took AP English Language and AP English Literature in high school and have developed my Grammar skills as a Linguistics major at Dartmouth.

Literature

I took AP English Literature in high school and received a 5 on the exam. I have tutored Literature as it has appeared on the SAT and ACT.

Prealgebra

I took prealgebra in middle school and have used these skills throughout my later algebra and calculus classes.

Precalculus

I took honors precalculus my sophomore year in high school and used these skills in AP Calculus BC and multivariable calculus.

Proofreading

I have been helping fellow high school and college students with college and job applications for the past five years and am a highly proficient writer.

Reading

I took AP English Language and AP English Literature in high school and am a tutor for the SAT and ACT. I am comfortable with the reading sections in both of these tests and am a strong reading tutor.

SAT Math

I got a 750 on the Math SAT II and a 750 on the Math section of the SAT. I am very comfortable in this section and have been tutoring it for three years.

SAT Reading

I scored a 2310 on the SAT and have over five years experience tutoring the test. I am very comfortable with the concepts and know the test inside and out.
