The Biochemistry is a branch of the Biology that applies the roles of the Organic and Inorganic Chemistry to investigate the different life's chemicals and metabolic cycles. It investigates the main nutrients, minerals, gas and solutions that are used in the biosphere of living beings. For example, it studies the Krebs cycle, the Photosynthesis Clorofilliana (the Calvin cycle), the alternatives metabolic pathways of the carbohydrates (such as mono-, disaccharides, penta-saccharides, etc.) and the lipids metabolism. It studies the equilibrium of some homeostatic environments. The different sequential reactions with the different enzymes and intermediary products are stretched out, as well as the different joint contacts between different metabolic pathways. The different reactions of the amino acids and nucleic acid are led forward in a series of logical sequences towards the final proteins.

In the Biochemistry, we can find not only the different not-protein Chemicals, but the different proteins committed to direct the different reactions in the better thermodynamical equilibrium.
The Biochemistry takes a look in the Endocrinology for the main reactions that are regulated by hormones.

The Statistic is very important for the analysis of the scientific researches' results, and in medicine it uses different main equations and methods for comparing data, determine the sensibility, the specificity and the power of a test.
It allows us to determine the veracity of a result in terms of probability, and, eventually, determine the degree of veracity of the evidences coming from different researches, etc.
The approach to the Biostatistic, begins with the study of the probability. You will learn how to calculate the chance to have a determinate result in different context and on the base of what you need to know, in a context not always stable and known. You will learn how to put order in a chaotic environment, where the phenomena not always happen under determined rules.
I used Statistic in my researches, in the analysis of data from different scientific articles, in making the best decision in front of different clinical choices, in determining certain diagnostic and prognostic factors under a nosological perspective.

The Genetics is the discipline that investigate the "code of the life" and, it tries to understand the encrypted code carried by the nuclear material, essentially the DNA. The DNA is packed under different forms inside the cell's' nucleus. Histones contribute to the different forms that the DNA assumes (Chromosomes, Chromatids).
The DNA is a long sequence of nucleotides, and a specific triplet of nucleotides form a codon in the DNA that matches a specific anticodon in the tRNA. The complementary codon of the tRNA is part of the future mRNA. Once the mRNA is processed, the final RNA is produced and translated in a protein.
Each codon corresponds to one or more amino acids in a future new protein, and vice versa, as a sign of what is called "degenerate code".
The ribosomes are the main organelles in the cytoplasm responsable for the proteins synthesis, linked in high number to the endoplasmic rugose reticulum.
The DNA and RNA contain exons and introns; these last do not code for proteins and are removed in the processing of the mRNA before the sintesys of proteins. Genes are sequences of codons carrying hereditary information, and they are within the exons of the DNA.

I am a native Italian speaker. The Italian grammar derives from an Idiomatic popular "Vulgar" speech. The term "Vulgar" was used to differentiate it from the most notable and noble Latin language. One of the most important historical figures that contributed the most to the codification of the Italian grammar, is Dante Alighieri (XIII century). The Italian remained the National language.
The Italian has many verbal forms, which better express the time of an action; each verbal form owns its conjugation. I can teach you how to conjugate a verb; even the most difficult verbal forms of the conditional and conjunctive.
I may teach you how to pronounce the correct Italian and read it with different phonetic processing, characteristic of the the Italian Language.


Microbiology is the discipline that study and classifies bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites, on the base of some peculiar parameters and microscopic evidences.
The first differentiation is in Eucariotes, procariotes and virus, related to the complexity of the structure of the organism.
The bacteria classification. The catalase and coagulase reactions, the Gram coloration, the alpha, beta and gamma hemolysis, the metabolism (aerobic and anaerobic), are the classical ways to differentiate and recognize a bacterium in a culture plate. The most recent tests were introduced to best differentiate bacteria in their own biosphere and susceptibility to the actions of specific antibiotics and chemicals. For example, the survival in a NaCl enriched environment or in the bile or both, the lactic acid production, the susceptibility to the Novobiocin and other antibiotics,
The presence of a thin layer of lipooligosaccharide is a characteristic of the Gram negative bacteria that do not retain the crystal violet in the Gram staining. The thick layer of peptidoglycan characterizes the Gram positive bacteria; it retains the crystal violet after an alcohol washing.
Under a microscopic observation, the bacteria are classified on the base of the shape (cocci or bacilli). Some peculiar characteristics, as the tendency to form agglomerates, the immunofluorescence, help to differentiate the bacteria in the culturing plate.
The microscopy use different techniques: the light traditional microscopy, the immunofluorescence and the electron microscopy.
For what concern the diseases, the microbiology associates the specific bacterium to the specific disease, investigating what it does.
The study of fungi uses mainly the microscopic observation, the culture in plates...etc.

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel is an excellent software for statistical analysis and for archiving data. It is possible to use it in slides of presentations, and to learn how to use logic formulas, and functions with different purposes. As other specialized statistical software, Excel allows us to learn the Statistic with a wide range of possibilities for what concern the approach. In each cell of the tables we can insert comments, pictures, etc. The most handsome characteristic of the software is the presence of numerous equations that we can use for different purposes for the management of data. We can use the software for analyzing different data with the Statistic. For instance, we can use different formulas to calculate the average, the moving average, the regression, linear progression, the SD, the variance etc. We can represent a Gaussian distribution in a graph, with all the data and formulas. We can do almost everything with the software, as selecting data from a column or a row, on the base of predefined variables, and the use of those data to calculate other parameters. We may transfer those selected data automatically on other columns or rows, etc.
The software is excellent for the analysis of statistical data; some more complex statistical formulas must be elaborated, but easy to insert in a self processing data analysis.

Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is a very practical and useful software to manage your calendars and schedules, your electronic post, contacts and tasks. After years of use I can teach you to use it very quickly, and efficiently. I have many folders where I have stored the old emails, the new ones and to safely split the junk emails. I have different emails addresses, for job, for delight and for other purposes. I have my calendars with my daily schedules, over an entire year. I can manage my contacts with their data (names, phone numbers, qualifications, etc.), and I have my tasks. I can archive my files. You will learn how to attach files to your emails and how to open files attached to your emails. It is a true surrogate of the old paper agenda.
You can install the software in any electronic devices and beginning to use it.
To add a new account, you need few protocol of access to different servers, as the IMAP/POP/SMTP. Today the different Servers of the providers set automatically the new accounts, without too many data elaborations. If you use public or private servers, you must care for searching for those protocols. You can install different calendars, and today, different websites have their own calendars that you can install on your Microsoft Outlook.

Microsoft PowerPoint

The Microsoft Powerpoint allows us to design and realize presentations for conference meetings, for lessons, advices and suggestions, etc.
The software is very refreshing and modish, suggesting ways and paths to realize interesting and clear presentations. It allows us to store different slides, to modify them and reuse them in other presentations, etc.
Each slide of a presentation can contain pictures boxes, text boxes, voices, musics of background, etc. The shifting from one slide to another is reach of fantasy, with a wide range of possibility, as "cut, fade, push, wipe, spit, random bars, shape," etc.
There are animations, as "appear, fly in, float in," etc.
The software offers us different options to design a slide, with formats predefined, enriched of colors and of a right font for our texts. It would be fun learning how to use it.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is an excellent software to write, edit and publish articles, books, reviews, etc. It is useful for transcriptions and for research purposes. It allows us to select the page layout, the font, the paragraph. We can insert picture boxes, text boxes, voices, charts, shapes, clip arts, etc. We can use equations and symbols.
It offers a wide range of objects we can use for our purposes, using other outer files.
It can review the text for the grammar (proofing), or translate the language, etc.
It can save the file in different formats.
It is easy to use and very useful for any purposes.

Music Theory

I had my first lesson of piano at the age of 15 years old. My teacher was a Soprano voice, talented and disposed to share with students her knowledge of Music. I began to study music Theory: the staff, the notes' names and syllables, the ledger line, the metric, the beats on the metric, the sharp/flat signs and their meaning, the pitches of notes, the scales, the solfeggio and composition. In parallel I began to practice piano with the digitization on the keyboard, the easy scales in major, then in minor, till the harmonization of the scales; easy Etudes for beginners till the most complex Etudes of known composers. I love Liszt (Etudes Transcendental, the Liebestraum) and Chopin (Nocturnes, Ballades and Etudes), but even other romantic pianists, with the exception of Rachmaninoff, maybe one of the last greatest piano composers (I love his style and how he harmonized his compositions on the keyboard. The Moments Musicaux are beautiful, as some variations of Italian composers for the piano). I did not approached to much the dodecaphony. Of course, I did not mentioned other composers of the Baroque age, that you have to study if you wish to have an exam in a Conservatory in the future (Haydn, Bach, Mozart, etc.)
The reading of the staff, is important and you must acquire a fast read and become able to transpose both the low key and treble clef in parallel on the keyboard at a good speed with the practice (100-or more beats per minute, with a good metric).

Organic Chemistry

I am a physician and I studied organic chemistry as one of the fundamentals of medicine. Organic chemistry, use the principles of general chemistry to analyze the reactions of those chemicals, as amino acids, nucleic acids, lipids, carbohydrates, implied in the life cycles, and the enzymes that accelerate, with thermodynamically favored reactions, the production of final products, or chemicals with different functions. One of these chemicals, very important for the life, is the ATP. It is supposed to know already, the physics of atoms, the main atoms, and those in particular, part of the main chemicals producing the life.

I would start reviewing with you, not just the basics of the Chemistry and physics, but some essential data for the organic chemistry. At this point we would analyze the different chemicals that I listed above, and eventually, the different functions and biological cycles they are part of.

There are many intermediary compounds in different cycles, which may be listed too, but the important thing is to understand the principles that regulate the chemical reactions, in particular, those reactions that are fundamental for the life.

Think about what you eat, and ask yourself what is happening to those chemicals. You will tell me what you need to know exactly.


The pharmacology is the discipline that studies the chemical of the medications, some important characteristics of medications, generally in the first three phases of the preclinical studies of a new medication, before the distribution in the pharmacies, once the new chemicals are approved by the Food and Drugs administration. In the I phase of the research, in laboratories, the purpose is to find at first some chemical that may be efficacious on the base of a known pathophysiology of a disease. The new chemical is studied for a possible theoretical efficacy. Then it proceeds to the II phase of the research, and once it has demonstrated some positive interferences on the pathophysiology of the disease, to the other phases.
The parameters investigated in the preclinical and clinical studies are the dynamics of the active chemicals, as the best administration pathway, the volume of distribution, the minimum efficacious dose, the lethal dose, the safety dose, the clearance. In the clinical studies the efficacy on the target diseases and the side effects are investigated. The veracity of data concerning the therapeutic efficacy, the best dosage, the sensitivity and sensibility of techniques of quantification, is realized In general statistical studies I can illustrate to you the main classes of medications used for different diseases, the posology and their pharmacology, the mechanism of action through which they operate in different contexts. Usually, the general medications operate through receptors, intracytoplasmic use of different natural cellular chemicals. In the infective diseases, they interfere with the life's cycles of microorganisms and viruses. All this is part of the Pharmacology. I am a physician and I can help you to learn it.


The physiology is that branch of Biology that, in medicine, investigates the functions of different organs and apparatus and Systems. In a more biological perspective, it studies every part of living organisms.
The physiology help us to know how a cell and its organelles work; how an assemblage of cells constituting, for example, an organ, works and what it does in a more complex apparatus or system. The physiology investigates the homeostatic environments of "closed" systems as the human body, in a standard natural condition defined as healthy. This mean that the physiology investigates only the work of those systems and organs in their natural assumed non-pathological state.
Through these investigations, the physiology gives us standardized models of healthy conditions that we use to compare and define pathological states. The physiological function of an organ for example, through the comparison with a pathological state, helps us to individuate what may be the features of a pathology in a disease.
The physiology uses different anatomical, physical and biochemical parameters. It quantifies these last two for having standard references for the evaluation of the function of an organ or system, and laboratory measures for a test. The pharmacology collaborates with the physiology for deepen the knowledge of the function of organs and systems. The pharmacology offers today a new approach for the study of the physiology, with different chemicals that intervene at the receptorial level, etc.
If you wish to know how a kidney works, the physiology explains to us how the glomerular filtration works, the clearance of a substance, the homeostasis of the urinary system; it uses different formulas and functions to calculate some parameters important in the evaluation of the function.

The TOEFL is the Test Of English as a Foreign Language. Today the test has a computerized version called iBT (Internet Based Test).
The test has the finality to verify and test the abilities of subjects to manage the English language, as the performances in speaking, reading and writing.
The test is divided in different sections. The main sections check the English grammar, the reading comprehension, and the writing ability.
In the grammar, often you are asked to correct some verbal forms or the structure of the phrase. In the reading comprehension you are asked to read and answer some questions concerning the content of the phrase. In the writing section you are asked to correct some words inside the phrase.
Pass the test is required for those, whose native language is not the English, with the intention to go in an English Country for different purposes.
First of all, subjects must study the English, and the lessons would be a review of the English knowledge, mainly the grammar.
