I studied Computer Science at Brown University and when I wasn't in class myself, I spent the majority of my time there teaching! I was a Head Teaching Assistant for computer science courses, taught computer science at a local elementary school, taught adult learners with Autism, and ran a coding camp for elementary and middle schoolers that taught over 150 students. I have tutored a wide range of subjects: math of all levels, computer science of all levels, ACT prep, SAT prep, and English. I have taught one-on-one, virtual, in-person, to classes of 20 to 40 students -- I absolutely love teaching and working with kids, so I'm happy to do so in basically any environment!
I especially enjoy working with elementary and middle schoolers as I find the math and computer science concepts "clicking" for them to be the most satisfying part of tutoring, and I really believe in the necessity of a strong math foundation that makes students feel confident and comfortable with math beyond just learning the required steps. I focus a lot on the processes of ensuring students truly understand the fundamental rules of math instead of just memorizing processes -- to me, that individualized understanding is the benefit of one-on-one time outside of the classroom!
I have a Masters degree from the University of Cambridge and will be starting a PhD at Harvard in the Fall.
