Endicott College (currently enrolled) (English)
My name is Paige S., and I am a Junior at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. At Endicott I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Creative Writing focus & Studio Art Minor. I am part of Endicott's honor societies: Endicott Scholars, and Sigma Tau Delta (the English honor society) and have made the Dean's List every semester. At Endicott I sing in the Jazz band, lead Spoken Bird (the Poetry Club) as the president, and help direct the EC Review (Literary Magazine). I've had internships where I've taught both high school and middle school students in English, and I've taught elementary school students in a few different subject matters including Art.
In January of 2014 I had a three week internship at the CLIC Program in Proctor Elementary, Topsfield, MA. CLIC stands for Creative Learning Integrated Curriculum, and there I designed lesson plans and created activities implementing art, music and writing into elementary curriculum. I also taught a capella in a music class as well as after school art. In January 2013 I had a three week internship as an English intern at Masconomet Regional High School, Topsfield, MA. There I observed teaching styles and how teachers conduct their classes, I organized classroom activities for a 10th grade English class, and graded papers.
I am fairly young at twenty so I find it easier to relate to students and therefore can find a way to more easily motivate them. That is why I would make a great English and Art tutor, not only for my experience, but my way of tutoring in a way that is engaging and creative while being able to relate to the students I teach.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
