I am looking for a summer position tutoring a wide range of students k-8 in multiple different backgrounds. I am well versed in math, English, religious studies, music, computer, as well as coaching (baseball, track, football, soccer, fitness, weightlifting), leadership, life skills, community outreach, diversity, multiculturalism and confidence building.
I am specifically interested in working with students from underrepresented groups as I have 2 years experience working with students with a wide spectrum of learning disabilities, socio-economic statues and backgrounds at a high school.
I am a 2011 graduate of Bucknell University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in multiculturalism and counseling. During the past two school years, I have been working at a high school in Admissions and Multicultural Affairs. I run the After School Program, an outreach program for under-represented students of color each day. I am also in the process of getting my masters in Counseling from Salem State University.
I am a mentor and counselor to the students in the After School Program, day to day, helping them focus on their school work and making their transition from middle school to high school successful. I am also an an Admissions Assistant working directly with the Dean of Admissions striving to improve our diversity and continued admission of students eager to learn. I also substitute teach for Spanish 1.
I am currently a middle school math teacher. I will be entering my second year teaching 6th, 7th and 8th graders pre-Alregbra through Algebra 1.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
