About Kelly

Currently, I have a Masters Degree in Moderate Special Needs, and Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have my Initial License in Elementary Education (1-6). I also have my Initial License in Moderate Special Needs (Pre-K-8), and my Initial License in Moderate Special Needs (5-12). I have passed the Communication and Literacy, General Curriculum, and Foundations of Reading Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure.

After graduating from Fitchburg State College, I began working at Briscoe Middle School as a Special Education ESP. I worked in the "Opportunity Room", which is a program for students with anxiety, as well as a wide range of additional disabilities. This experience influenced my decision to go to Salem State College for Special Education, to pursue a Master's Degree and Initial License in Moderate Special Needs.

After graduating in 2009, I became the Strategies-Based 4/5 grade teacher at North Beverly Elementary School. This is a substantially-separate program for students with cognitive delays as well as anxiety. I was able to teach strategies that helped enable my students to access the general education curriculum, as well as to become confident learners. In September 2011, I began teaching at Briscoe Middle School. I teach in the Learning Center, and provide students with organizational, academic, and social support. My methodology as a teacher is that all students have the right to learn, and it is my duty to ensure they do so by using a variety of teaching styles that reach every unique learner.
Currently, I have a Masters Degree in Moderate Special Needs, and Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have my Initial License in Elementary Education (1-6). I also have my Initial Read more

Approved subjects

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
