About Maria

Hello,

Thank you for reviewing my profile and considering me for tutoring your child! I have been working with children with learning differences since 1998. I've worked in many areas that have provided me with excellent experience from an early intervention specialist to an academic curriculum coordinator. I've worked in both private and public school setting as a teacher and consultant. I integrate various methodologies to tailor support for individual learning needs and styles.

I have a Bachelors degree from Lesley University in Special Education. Working with your child goes beyond just academic support. It's important to help your child feel proud and confident. I build encouraging and engaging relationships with my clients that make the hardworking seem like fun ...most of the time ;) I incorporate executive function, self regulation and independence coaching as needed/requested. These are prerequisite skills that make all the difference long term. Together, we will not just get your child through today's homework or the next test but guide them through developing strategies that they can apply across various areas of not just school, but life!

I have had the opportunity to work with some really amazing families and I hope yours will be next!

I have experience with Handwriting Without Tears, Executive Function coaching, ACC device training, and academic tutoring. ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, PDD, Executive function disorder and related learning differences.

I make an effort to acknowledge your child as a whole person with a bright future! Look forward to the opportunity to see your child SHINE!
