I am a compassionate, caring teacher (and person) and I believe in a very individualized approach to teaching and tutoring. Everyone learns in their own way, and my goal is to respect and work within each student's learning style. If you are interested, please contact me. I look forward to an opportunity to work with you. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I currently work at a middle school in Newton, MA. I am an Aide for students who have various learning disabilities and ADHD. This is the second year that I have worked in this position. Previously I worked with many students in my classes with IEP's. These students also had learning disabilities and/or ADHD.
I hope to be considered to work with students who have either learning disabilities and/or ADHD.
As a high school English teacher, I worked with many students to improve their study skills in our class. I helped with organization, for example: setting priorities, time management, determining what work is being requested (e.g. breaking down the directions and requirements of an assignment), and determining steps to accomplish goals.
