Since high school, I have worked to help other students be better writers and speakers.
I started tutoring students in English when I was in 10th grade, and continued that profession through college, where I worked in the Wake Forest Writing Center. I tutored athletes and other students in grammar, writing, and vocabulary. I also worked as a student assistant conducting research, checking sources, and proof-reading articles to be submitted by various professors.

Since college, I have served as an SAT tutor, writing teacher, and English tutor for individuals of all ages.
As a high school and college debater, I developed exceptional oral communication skills, and became a respected member of both debate teams. I have worked as a radio and television reporter, commentator, and disc jockey, and have a very high level of comfort behind a microphone, in front of a camera, or before a crowd. I have taught middle school students the art of speech and debate, and will continue that work with high school students in the fall.
I am an easy-going but demanding teacher who strives to make learning fun and exciting. I teach by way of example and by offering challenging, but enjoyable topics.
I look forward to working with you.
