The PLA Information Engineering University (MIS)
Greetings (Niho) to my future students. My name is JingJing X. and I have been a teacher of Chinese language and culture for over 7 years. In China I prepared for teaching and excelled on the National Accreditation for Mandarin Teaching. This means I can teach traditional Mandarin at a University Level in China which includes speaking and writing. My independently tailored classes here in the USA are specifically designed to develop basic conversation and vocabulary and learn proper Mandarin pronunciations of the 47 basic Chinese sounds essential to reading and speaking.
I work with students of all levels --young children, elementary school age, high school and college students, and adults wishing to learn or perfect their Mandarin. I also work extra hard to develop highly individualized programs for students with existing backgrounds in Mandarin or for people planning to travel, research or simply enjoy their relationships with other Mandarin speakers. Tutoring and classes can be held at mutually agreed upon locations in the Greater Boston area. Please contact me.
Thank you. (Xie Xie),

Jingjing is the ideal Mandarin tutor! As a native Chinese speaker, she is incredibly talented at explaining concepts in Chinese--grammar, vocabulary, etc--to me even though I have only taken Chinese 1 previously. In the tutoring sessions, Jingjing is very patient and encouraging, and we always cover a lot of material. We also review the previous material at the beginning of sessions, so that I do not forget anything that I learn! Jingjing is also excellent at helping me with my pronunciation of Chinese, and brings many materials to our sessions to help with pronunciation, as well as materials that will be highly beneficial for conversational Chinese. We often practice vocabulary and grammar through dialogues, and this is helping me to learn a lot more Chinese more quickly, and feel more confident in my Chinese speaking ability!
JingJing is a fantastic tutor. She is always willing to go the extra mile to explain and make sure I understand and remember well. After just two lessons, I know my pronunciation has improved hugely and my vocabulary is better. Her materials are helpful and focus on important and relevant topics. Overall, JingJing is a pleasure to be with, and makes lessons both fun and productive.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
