A life-long learner with a collaborative approach, I am able to combine subject expertise with good interpersonal and coaching skills. I have always held myself to a high standard in academic subjects, and I will bring this same attitude to my tutoring practice.
I am now retired and would like to provide my tutoring services as a way of giving something back to the community. You will find me highly motivated, creative, and skillful in 1 on 1 problem solving sessions.
I was a straight A student in all my mathematics courses, from Algebra 1 through Advanced Calculus and Linear Algebra. I truly love math and am excited by the possibility of tutoring in this subject area.
I earned a B.A. summa cum laude with Honors in Religion from Haverford College and then a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin.

As a programmer, I learned many software languages and honed my skills in computation, problem solving, and algorithm design.

A life-long learner with a collaborative approach, I am able to combine subject expertise with good interpersonal and coaching skills. I have always held myself to a high standard in academic subjects, and I will bring this same attitude to my tutoring practice.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
