Liberty University (Master's)
I have over eight years of experience as a tutor. I graduated from Regent University in 2010 with a degree in Communications. I miraculously graduated college in three years, and loved every bit of it. I believe having a degree in communications has really helped me as a tutor, because I always try to find a way to help the student understand the material in a way that they will benefit from. There are so many different learning styles and not one size fits all.
I also received my Master's degree in Human Services from Liberty University in 2011. I previously worked at a tutoring agency and helped kids learn how to read and write, and perfect the skills they already had. However, the majority of my tutoring has been with middle schoolers and high schoolers.
I have experience tutoring students with learning disabilities as well as ADD and ADHD. I genuinely enjoy tutoring and have continued to tutor even after becoming a stay at home mom of our two children! My favorite subject to tutor is math, although I have tutored in every school subject over the past 8 years. Normally, I have started tutoring a specific subject and as time goes on have helped with homework completion in every subject. I will also bring additional materials if necessary to the student's development. I have over eight years of experience as a tutor. Andrea was friendly and engaging. My son was most happy that she did not make him nervous or get upset if his answers were incorrect. She made him feel comfortable and he felt empowered. Great start! Thank you.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored Algebra for the last 9 years. It is actually my favorite math subject to do and to tutor. I have the enthusiasm and strategies to help any algebra student succeed!
I have been tutoring Algebra 1 and 2 for almost ten years. It's actually my favorite subject!
I have been raised in church my entire life and went to a Christian school through 8th grade. Following high school, I attended a Christian college as well as a Christian university for graduate school. I have had at least 12 years of formal Bible classes. I am still very involved in church and am on the Children's team at Trinity Evangelical Church.
Tutoring in Math for ten years from fourth grade all the way through high school.
