About Bev

A retired Special Education teacher from the Amherst school system, I hold a Master's degree in Special Education and have over 30 years experience evaluating, teaching, and tutoring elementary-age children in reading and the language arts.

I have been trained in a number of reading programs (Orton Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, Phono-Graphix), but I specialize in the Wilson Reading System.

I offer tutoring services for elementary age children in reading and language arts, ranging from 30-60 minutes per session, once a week or more if needed.

If your child is struggling, or just needs a little extra help, with reading, writing, or spelling, please consider contacting me.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
