I have over fifteen years of years of experience as a tutor and four years experience teaching. I have worked with students ranging from age nine to seventy-two with a multitude of backgrounds. I have direct experience instructing students with ADHD, dyslexia, and a few other disorders. The majority of my experiences teaching and tutoring are in math and physics, but I have also worked with students in chemistry, biology, and English and have no problem with other subjects. I have very flexible hours currently and am very excited about the prospect of tutoring new students. I look forward to meeting with you!
Most of my tutoring experience comes from working for the Math Center at Greenfield Community College. I have also worked for UMass, Syracuse University, Northfield Mount Herman, ClubZ!, and privately.

We had a wonderful experience using Chris to tutor our son in Algebra. Chris is very reliable and responsible. He has taken the time to really understand our son and to adapt his teaching to our son's strengths and limitations. He's talked with the classroom teacher so that he could target his tutoring to what was going on in the classroom. Although math will probably never be our son's favorite subject, I believe that he did as well as he did with the class because of the help and understanding he received from Chris.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a lot of experience with Linux, I have Ubuntu installed on most of the computers I own, and one of my former jobs was to administer Linux in a scientific lab. Most of the software I develop is under Linux.
