Bonjour!

My name is Cate and I recently graduated from Colby College, with a degree in French studies. I love French language and culture, and have followed this passion to where I am now. I have spent eight years learning French, with two long-term stays in France. I have spent the last eight years of my French education perfecting the tricks of French grammar and vocabulary, as well as studying French literature.

I have firsthand experience speaking everyday French, as I lived with a French family in Paris for a year, and in Dijon, France for 4 months. This experience really helped me with the ins and outs of the French language, especially spoken and informal French. I spent my junior year of college studying at the Sorbonne, taking classes alongside native French speakers and completing college-level assignments in French.

I am happy to assist students with any aspect of the French language: from specific vocabulary questions and grammar, to pronunciation, reading and long essays. I can also provide sessions of french conversation for students preparing to spend time abroad who need to polish up their speaking skills.

Please contact me with any other questions or to schedule lessons.
