Math and physics are hard--that's why I'm here to help you survive and thrive! If you struggle with equations, get lost in word problems, or can't grasp the core concepts, don't worry: you aren't alone!

As a physics graduate with 3 years of experience in tutoring, I am knowledgeable in several areas of study, including electromagnetism, mechanics, introductory atomic and quantum physics, optics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, condensed matter, and oscillations/waves. My strong suit is in topics high school subjects and college-level courses, but I am flexible with age and courses. I have an overarching understanding of mathematics, particularly those topics utilized in applied sciences. This includes geometry, algebra, trigonometry, linear algebra, precalculus, calculus, and differential equations.

Much of my tutoring background involves standardized test preparation. If you are pursuing a postsecondary degree and are required to take the ACT, SAT, GRE, or other exams, I am well prepared to discuss studying strategies and test-taking skills. My experience encompasses not only math and science elements of these exams, but also grammar comprehension, open-ended response strategies, and reading analysis.

My goal as a tutor is to instill an appreciation for self-learning in students. Most learning is done on one's own; some students have trouble learning or memorizing, or the standard techniques of learning are to them. Regardless, my goal is to not only elevate a student's grade but also to grow their self-confidence, so that they gain a passion for learning.

Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

As a college graduate with a physics degree, I am well-versed in the theories and applications of linear algebra. Topics I have regularly seen and utilized include matrices and determinants, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, change of basis, and orthogonality conditions. I like to think of linear algebra as an extremely generalized mathematical description of space, with a broad range of specific and useful applications in science and engineering.

Jack is fantastic!

We so appreciate Jack. He is a great match for our son. He is likable, patient, encouraging, supportive, and totally invested. He goes above and beyond. His manner is warm, and yet "completely chill." He is completely able to carry on and engage in a conversation about algebra and physics, as if its perfectly normal that my child is literally climbing or hanging off a wall. I have to hand it to him for patience. He's a great guy - truly, and we feel blessed and lucky.

Patient, diligent tutor

Jack tutored my daughter for two hours in preparation for an in-class AP physics exam. He was friendly, patient, and clearly knew the subject matter. i would absolutely recommend him.

Great Teacher!

Jack tutored my son in AP Physics. He's very patient and goes through each problem step by step. It really helped my son understand his rigorous lesson plan. Jack even went a step further by sending my son examples and things to remember for his homework and upcoming test. Definitely would recommend him!
