Hi, students and parents,
I'm about to graduate from Umass Boston and want to share what I know with you. I speak and write French fluently, but love to write in English as well. I know some great secrets to organizing essays. If you're looking for music lessons, I can help you with that too! I've been playing guitar for over 10 years now and learned music theory from one of my good friends growing up, Brent C., who plays guitar for a great upcoming band. A lot of people take learning too seriously and forget how fun and stimulating it really is, so I want to make tutoring sessions enjoyable and informative. I live in lower Allston near the library, which is one of my favorite places to get work done, but I can take public transit to you if that's easier.
Hope to see you soon!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been playing guitar for over 10 years. I know a variety of songs and can play a variety of style of music. I know scale formations and how they interact with chord progressions, which is necessary to become a true guitarist. I will begin teaching through basic pentatonic minor/ blues progressions and later move on to the basic major scale, then into different modes.
I am a sociology major in college. I understand theoretical approaches and have read the work of Weber, Marx, Toqueville, and many other sociological works. In practice, I understand the concepts that outline structural causes of social problems and how these problems compound over the years to exacerbate issues.
