Having learned and worked with many world-class violinists in the past 20+ years, I understand how important the balance between music and technique is during the period of learning violin. And I know clearly how to build techniques concurrently with music. I saw too many violin students either having a great technique or having an amazing musical mind while lacking the support of respective technique.
Born into a family of medicinal academics, I was subconsciously affected by my father, who loves classical music as his life’s blood. Music has been ingrained into my perception since birth even while my mother was carrying me. My father, the music fan, would often play records of some classical music, such as minuets or serenades of Haydn, Dvorak, and Schubert. Such music shaped my own original musical inspiration and impression. Between the time of my birth and of my first word, my happiness, anger, sadness, and joys were largely determined by the music I was hearing. I was regarded as a gifted boy, especially in music, and my father gave me a violin when I was 3 years old.
Since childhood, I have demonstrated a keen musical mind and shown a natural talent in playing the violin. I practice violin not because, as is common in China, my parents make me do it, but because I really love it from my inner heart. I would love to concentrate all my life on music study, playing or teaching. In my opinion, music is healing; it guides us on the right path and allows us to live in harmony with ourselves. My musical inspiration enables me to outperform my violin classmates, especially in contests or competitions, making myself the undisputed academic leader of the violin class. I achieved the tenth level classification in violin performance, the highest level for amateur, when I was 9 years old. I was thus chosen to represent either my school or my city in a variety of provincial and national contests of violin in theatres, the open air, or the public squares, where I won numerous prizes.
So much human sentiment cannot be depicted easily by any magnificent literary word!
In 2007, I got offers from famous music schools including Boston Conservatory of Music, Lawrence University, Manhattan School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Eastman School of Music. I graduated in June 2010 from Lawrence University with an economics major and violin performance minor (because of an unexpected injury on my left hand). Now I'm residing in Allston, MA to express my love to music in terms of teaching.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. I'm originally from China and came to the US in 2007 to get my bachelor's and master's degrees in a world-known liberal arts college and business school, respectively. Chinese is my native language and I'm good at speaking to people and telling people how to improve Chinese in my unique way.
I have taken weekly Ear Training class with college students studying in music conservatory since I was 6 years old.
