I contacted Clark at the beginning of fall semester for assistance on my Calculus I course. I lacked the basics to understand and be able to succeed in the class but with Clark's patience and constant encouragement I was able to pass and actually understand Calculus. He is a wonderful tutor and a great person in general. I would highly recommend him to anyone I know. Honest, helpful, and encouraging are just some of the words that can be used to describe Clark. Thank you for helping me overcome my difficulties and ultimately succeed in the course!

How many students actually look forward to their tutor? Our son enjoys each session and feels more confident with the material. Last year he worked with Clark on Algebra 2; this year it is Pre-Calc. Highly recommend him! Clark is a patient tutor, makes the material relevant, and offers help beyond the tutoring session via email, facetime.

My son had a last minute physics presentation to do and was totally overwhelmed. Clark looked at my son's presentation and immediately offered suggestions of how to improve it. Clark picked up on information that my son had researched which was not accurate. Clark offered more sources and more quotes and other perspectives. Extremely helpful!

Clark is fantastic. He has significant experience teaching and tutoring and is able to break down problems very well. He goes above and beyond to help students understand materials. I highly recommend Clark if you're looking for a bargain of a tutor in physics or math.

Clark has really been a fabulous tutor. He inculcates a love of learning and definitely makes the subject very interesting! He is very helpful, patient, and explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand. My son definitely enjoyed Physics and Calculus because of Clark.

Clark loves to teach and does so by helping kids learn the fundamentals. He loves what he does and the kids can clearly see it. He is great with fundamentals and then dives into specifics. Outstanding coach!

I had the fortunate experience of having Clark N. for my tutor for the last 5 months for calculus. Having never studied the subject, Clark brought me through the subject matter without fear, and built my confidence along the way. I am so grateful for the wealth of knowledge Clark has shared with me, and I highly recommend him as a tutor.

Clark is teaching physics to my 16 year old daughter and math to my 13 year old son. In the first case, my daughter is being homeschooled, so Clark has provided her with a textbook, and software help to organize the lessons. He has figured out that she needs help with some algebra and will be doing both with her. Not only is he providing a framework, detecting the weak points, and explaining the material so that she can understand it, but he is also very pleasant. I can't imagine that my daughter would ever have such great physics teaching in a classroom; she may still come to like science! My 13 year old son is in both grade in school and has been struggling with math for a few months. He's the kind of student who has never had trouble with school so tends to think he shouldn't need help; embarrassed by finding the material difficult he's been giving up without trying. Clark has in a few lessons brought his self-confidence to the point of attempting solutions, and asking for help early. This is an incredibly important lesson! But, there's more: Clark is available for questions over email! I am really pleased to have found such a patient, dedicated and engaged teacher!

Clark helped me with my astronomy related course this morning and he was the best at everything! Seriously he is so knowledgeable and so trustworthy and he explains everything so well with great examples. I had previously sent him a copy of our material which he answered all of the questions before he even arrived . Very Impressed!

Thanks a lot.

Clark was an excellent match for my eleventh and twelfth grade daughter. He guided her through the content only taking time where needed to reteach content. He used the time to help her to solidly understand all the math concepts.

Another great tutoring session. It's so much

fun as a teacher to have a tutor, especially

when I tell my students that I don't have

time to see them after school because I have to see

my tutor. Finally, I get their attention.

Clark has been helping me with Precalculus from 2012-2013 and with his help I was able to bring my average up two whole letter grades! He broke everything down and made it more simple, as well as being patient with questions or teaching material in a different way if I didn't understand it. He is always easy to reach and responds asap to all my emails. He's a great tutor, and a smart guy who is reliable and effective!

Clark is an extremely intelligent and wonderful tutor. He helped me tremendously with both physics and calculus. He is clear and creative with his approaches and is very patient. He is extremely supportive and encouraging of his students. Your success is his success! He is very easy to reach both my email and phone and I would recommend Clark to anyone in a heartbeat.

I never thought that doing poorly (I won’t say quite how poorly) on my first physics test in the tenth grade would be disguised as a blessing. Because of that performance, I was able to have Mr. N as a tutor. Having a man who worked on the Apollo projects for NASA for a physics tutor does have its benefits.

Mr. N’s understanding of physics ranges far beyond the textbook. Yes, he can prepare me more than adequately for classes and tests (and adequately for me means an ‘A’). But what he has done for my intellectual curiosity ranges far beyond what can be described by a good test score. When Mr. N showed me a derivation of time and length dilation in special relativity, I was fascinated. I had never thought that such concepts would be accessible to me so early in my education, and they wouldn’t have been if it weren’t for Mr. N. I knew right then that physics was in my future, for having received a taste of higher level physics, I had the appetite for more. To me Mr. N has been not a tutor but a mentor.

To whoever is reading this, I recommend you use Mr. N for whatever math/physics tutoring you need. Even if you don’t plan on going into a math/science field, Mr. N will give you an in depth knowledge of the subject that will help you succeed in your academic endeavors and satisfy your curiosity.

My son is receiving physics B tutoring from Clark, and he is very happy with the instruction received to date. My son has been able to understand the basic concepts better and Clark has helped him to review for a test to be taken the next day at school. Clark was very patient and thorough, and my son learned a great deal in just one two-hour lesson. I feel very lucky that my son is receiving tutoring from Clark. Thanks, Clark!

I signed up for tutoring on some complex physics problems for the MCAT. My experience exceeded expectations. Clark sent me notes (via email) showing each step necessary to solve each problem days before our appointment. The notes actually explained everything saving lots of time.

Clark was a great tutor, and helped me grasp the deeper meaning of the concepts of calculus. He's got plenty of cool stories that he can relate to each problem- making it more interesting and easier to remember!

Clark is a very patient tutor. Great understanding of the material. Extremely thorough.

Clark is a great tutor. He is very professional and my session with him was very helpful. I would recommend him as a tutor to anyone.

Clark was an excellent tutor for my physics 1 class this past summer. He had great availability and was very patient and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Clark and would not hesitate to use him for my Physics 2 class! He put in a lot of extra effort by making study sheets for each chapter and e-mailed to check and see my progress!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1 introduces the concept of symbolic representation of numbers whose value is unspecified, and also the basic notion of relations between sets of numbers specified by a recipe called a "function." Operations upon and between functions provide a basis for discovering important properties of relations, properties of number sets, and methods of representation. The axioms and common understandings of Algebra 1 are common to all other algebras, such as vector algebra, and are therefore the essential foundation for all further study in mathematics.

Algebra 2 skills, including factoring, finding roots, solving sets of equations and classifying functions by their properties, are a necessary foundation for trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus and linear algebra. Particularly important are operations with exponents and an understanding of the definition and properties of logarithms.

While growing up I was an active amateur astronomer, and I have taught this subject at the introductory level. I have the good fortune to be married to a professional astronomer who occasionally involves me in her work on symbiotic star systems.

Calculus is one of the three legs on which most mathematically-based disciplines rest. The other two are linear algebra and the stochastic systems (statistics), which come together in advanced courses. Everyone intending to pursue studies in basic science (including life sciences), engineering or economics should have a good foundation in introductory calculus.

Mechanics is the basis of physics, physics is the basis of most fields of application, particularly in engineering. In addition to fundamental concepts, the study of physics develops the ability to think mathematically, and apply mathematical methods to many problems of interest, including outside of physics.

Physics often provides a context for visualizing mathematical constructs and operations, which in turn feed back into a better understanding of the physics. For this reason, the concurrent study of mathematics and physics is synergistic in its effects and should always be preferred if it can be arranged.

Pre-calculus is the gate-keeper course for transition to calculus, and is therefore as important as calculus itself for those intending or needing to study higher mathematics. Typically it includes a review of basic algebra topics; various types of functions--including trigonometric and polynomial; series; limits; and an introduction to vectors. Most troubles with introductory calculus are traceable to an inadequate mastery of algebra and trigonometry.

As noted above, trigonometry is usually encountered as a part of a pre-calculus course. In my view, much of the traditional material associated with trigonometry should be replaced by an introduction to the linear algebra of vectors, which provides alternative methods of solving many of the problems encountered in trigonometry, and is much more generally useful.
