I am a 25 year old teacher who has been working in the Springfield Public Schools for three years. Currently I teach children in grades 2-3 in a program for children with Autism. In my teaching career, I have been a part of many groups including the Instructional Leadership Team, the Faculty Advisory Committee, the School Centered Decision Making Team, and have been a nominee of the Grinspoon Award for Excellence in Teaching. I am a respected teacher in my school by not only administration, but most importantly by the students.
During the summertime, I work full time for a family of six. They have two school aged boys, and one of them needed reading help this past summer. He was an average reader, but wanted to be pushed to the next level. Through working together, he was excited to tell me at the beginning of second grade he was placed into the advanced reading group instead of receiving support outside of the classroom like he did in first grade.
Because of my wide range of experiences with children including those with severe Autism who are non-verbal and require different approaches to learning, to children in gifted and talented programs, I know that I would be able to help your learner! I hope to hear from you!
