In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was a Special Education Inclusion teacher for ADD/ADHD students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades for one year. I taught as a regular education teacher for 4 years and had many ADD/ADHD students in my class that had a 504 plan. I also taught juvenile boys at a youth prison where several of the youth were ADD/ADHD.
