Genetics,

Genetics

I taught medical and graduate genetics as part of my graduate school training. My doctoral dissertation has a genetics component in that we genetically modified specific targets using morpholino's to switch genes on and off in our target population of mice. We actually cured Usher syndrome type 1 in mice using genetic manipulation.
Pharmacology,

Pharmacology

I taught medical school pharmacology as part of my graduate career. We worked with many neural druggable targets in the research setting and a small portion of my research was manipulating neurochemistry in vitro by adding or removing specific substrates, agonists, or antagonists. You cant study in vitro/in vivo neuroscience without a strong grasp of pharmacological effects of your aCSF and additions made to it.
Physiology,

Physiology

I have a PhD in Neuroscience, the focus is on Neural Physiology. My graduating department was Cell Biology and Anatomy.
Zoology,

Zoology

Part of my degree required maintaining an animal colony. I have experience with mus musculus, hyla cinerea, and xenopus. All of our work was conducted on the brains of these various species and keeping them alive and understanding genus/species specific characteristics were essential to my job.
