I am a graduate student at Louisiana Tech University where I am completing my PhD and two Master's degrees. I am a member of multiple honor societies and the recipient of a Louisiana Space Consortium Graduate Fellowship.
I have worked as both a tutor and instructor for the College of Engineering and Science and my teaching experience includes circuit theory, introductory electromagnetics, microelectronics, and fundamentals of microelectromechanical systems. I have also worked as a volunteer tutor for Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, and Pi Mu Epsilon honor societies.
I enjoy tutoring because I want people to have a greater understanding of STEM fields like mathematics, physics, and engineering. I think that a strong background in math and science will be necessary to obtain competitive, well-paying jobs in the future and I'd like to help provide a solid education that can help jump-start those careers.
I specialize in tutoring math with a focus on developing core skills and a fundamental understanding of why problems are approached in a specific way as opposed to rote memorization and applications of formulas.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope to foster an enjoyment of mathematics and science that will help you have a successful career. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and am completing my Master's degree this quarter. I have a 4.0 GPA on all Electrical Engineering courses taken (both graduate and undergraduate), and have worked as a TA and instructor for the Electrical Engineering department at Louisiana Tech University.
