I have been a teacher in the public school system for fourteen years. I graduated from LSUS, additional education courses through Northwestern and Louisiana Tech University.
I have taught common core in English, ELA, math and science/social studies. In addition, I am certified in Braille education. I always present numerous strategies which are individualized for each student to ensure they are present the best way of learning and recalling materials for them. In addition to instruction in the core subjects, I have worked with students in researching materials, writing and critiquing papers.
If your child needs to work on preparing for state testing, I have had success in providing instruction resulting in significant gains on test scores.
I usually meet with students at a local library. However, I may be open to meeting in your home or other public place after speaking with you. I am available each afternoon and on Saturdays. I am also open to working with siblings together at a pre-agreed upon price.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
