My name is Jianna and I am extremely passionate about science! I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis wit a degree in Biochemistry and minors in Spanish and Healthcare Management. All of my coursework showed me the importance of quality instructors who gave me skills to succeed in any class. I spent 3 years teaching high school science at Booker T Washington High School since graduating and so, have plenty of experience facilitating learning for students and making concepts digestible. I have taught both physics and biology at the high school level.
I am currently third year medical student at a Top 10 program and I attribute a lot of my success to my stellar MCAT score (99th percentile) and my unique passion for health equity and medicine.
I am excited about the opportunity to help and inspire young people to reach their goals!
I taught high school science for the past 3 years and have helped hundreds of students master NGSS standards. Additionally, I have also completed two 8-hour courses on the ACT Science section in particular and feel equipped to help students tackle what some call the most challenging section!
I scored a 523 (99th percentile) on the MCAT and self-studied the entire time without the use of a prep course. I also worked full time while studying and thus can help students master content, but also come up with effective study strategies and schedules to fit what they need to get done.
