About Michaela

My name is Michaela. I speak fluent Spanish and earned a Masters in Hispanic Studies two years ago. Before that, I studied at Loyola University New Orleans (2008-2012), majoring in Philosophy and Spanish, with a minor in French. Last year, I lived abroad in Malaga, Spain where I taught English at the high school level.

During my time at Boston College, I taught two courses of Intermediate Spanish. After graduating in 2014, I worked at Nunez Community College as an adjunct teaching Basic Math and Elementary Spanish during the 2014-2015 academic year. Afterward, I decided I wanted a change of pace and traveled to southern Spain and worked as an English teacher for a year in Malaga. Since coming home I've agreed to work at Nunez again as an adjunct while studying for the LSAT. I plan to apply to law school next academic year.

I currently teach Basic Math and Introductory Algebra at Nunez Community College.

I am fluent in Spanish, have lived in Spain for a year and have basic French skills.

I also majored in Philosophy so I have skills in English writing and grammar.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
