About John

5+ years during high school, college, and post-college I professionally tutored: peer tutoring one-on-one to group lessons… weekly teacher assistant office hours to reviewing and proctoring exams. Teaching in-school then at-home. But, in the end, I prefer online for its convenience!

As an Industrial Engineer, I optimize. I apply science-based learning techniques such as Socratic Method, "growth mindset", and motivational psychology. With a minor in math and a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, I graduated from Massachusetts' University, in Amherst.

Hundreds of students improved on these subjects with me: Differential Equations (ODE), Advanced Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Statistics, Business Statistics, Probability, Statistics & Probability, Discrete Math, and Algebra; and everything in-between!

Throughout sessions, for a high quality (HQ) audio sound, I use a professional microphone (Audio-Technica 2020+) and for a high quality session, I use an IPEVO document camera for birds eye view, step-by-step instructions. Stack the deck in your favor and cultivate your math skills. From any level. Learning every day and applying what I learn to the real world are my main values. So let's learn enormously together, grow exponentially further and see real-world applications with every session.

The minimum session time is 1 hour to ensure proper coverage of material. My rates for subjects similar to Calculus 1 and below starts at $48/hr but is typically $58/hr. This lower price will not last long, as I recently started at WyzAnt. For the next rate I charge $54/hr for Multivariable Calculus and Advanced Calculus. I quote for the subject Differential Equations, $59/hr.

If you are serious about learning more and need to schedule lessons immediately, contact me now. Don't procrastinate weeks until when help is too late; plan ahead and in your future, thank your past self.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Calculus

Besides practicing industrial engineering, I also minored in math. I specialized and mastered up to Vector Calculus and Imaginary Calculus subjects in college. Likewise, I tutored in Calculus for my entire tutoring span of 5+ years.

Econometrics

I studied Macroeconomics coursework as part of my curriculum. I tutored in economics in person. Also, math-wise, it is all understandable coming from a Statistics, Probability, and Calculus background in Industrial Engineering.

Finite Math

I minored in math as part of my curriculum taking linear algebra, advanced calculus, and probability and statistics for engineers. I tutored in finite math in person and online before. Also, math-wise, it is all understandable coming from Industrial Engineering.

Precalculus

I learned from the best at my University of Massachusetts and was a teacher assistant for Precalculus for one year.

Probability

I am an Industrial Engineer and Probability and Industrial Engineering go hand and hand. We'll go through many types of probability theory such as Pr(A and B), Pr(A OR B), etc.

Statistics

I graduated in industrial engineering, a subject heavy in statistics. I have also covered statistics for my five years of experience in tutoring.

Knowledgeable and patient — John is a young enthusiastic teacher, he helped me with Statistics, he is patient and was able to explain the concepts of continuous and discrete and exponential statistics. I will definitely recommend him as a good Statistics teacher. ...
