Loyola University New Orleans (Environmental Sci)
Just to give a quick introduction, I recently graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelors in Environmental Science. I've diversified my background experiences to include biological research, ecology, environmental law and policy, increasing public awareness, and environmental consulting. I hope to continue to diversify and expand my skills by seeking out others that I can share my knowledge with.
Additionally, I am co-authored on an article that was recently submitted for publication based on research i performed and hope to be published soon. My research and analytical experiences range from marine and biological research, ecology analysis, public health, environmental consulting, and policy review. I also have developed great leadership skills though several years in a managerial positon and through my time as a cadet in the U.S. Army ROTC program.
I also studied French in high school and college, which has lead to interest in various cultures. The various experiences I have accumulated in various fields of environmental science, management, and leadership were all in effort to benefit the families, residents, and communities within Louisiana. I have diversified my skill set in order to be effective in a variety of tasks and settings. I am confident that I can contribute my passion for a better Louisiana and globe into inspiration to hen students of all backgrounds be successful in the classroom and beyond.
I studied Pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus in high school as an honors student and maintained honor roll status, graduating in the top 10% in my class. In college I studied additional Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics to satisfy my hunger for more math knowledge and to support my science studies.
I started as a Physics major before switching to Environmental Science and studied various Biology courses including Biology of Organisms Lab and Lecture, Cells and Heredity Lab and Lecture, Animal Behavior, Conservation Biology, and Foundations in Environmental Science. I also have several hours in Chemistry and Ecology.
I know my introduction and summary may seem intense and maybe even distracted, but I've sought as much and many different avenues of learning to be as well rounded, approachable, and helpful to as many people as possible in the math and sciences. I worked with people of many different backgrounds and I'd ove to share my knowledge with you as well. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took several related courses such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I courses 8th grade - college, along with other math courses. I graduated from high school and college with honors distinctions.
I have a B.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Biological Sciences. I am currently employed in Public Health. I am a published co-author in scientific journal.
I am a member of Mu Alpha Theta Math Club and have taken several math courses, including elementary math.
