About Madeline

I am a recent graduate of the Tulane Masters of Pharmacology Program offered at the School of Medicine (graduated May 2015). I graduated from undergrad at Tulane with a Neuroscience major and Economics minor. I will be starting medical school in the fall of 2018 and am currently living in New Orleans. I volunteer often and have completed more than 200 hours of community service in the last three years, a large portion of those hours coming from helping out with a first grade class at the KIPP charter school on St. Claude. I also volunteer at the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine, for Habitat for Humanity, and in the ER at a local hospital.

As someone who has always excelled in math and science, I love to help middle school and high school students (I'm highly familiar with the International Baccalaureate program as a 2010 IB diploma recipient) in those subjects as well as any others that need extra time outside of the classroom. I have excellent study skills and a variety of online resources that I would like to share with you. I am a highly organized person, and I believe that staying organized is a key to academic success. I look forward to teaching organizational skills and different study methods to students at all levels. I have been tutoring for the past 6 years for friends, family members, and many hardworking students.

Math SAT: 760, combined SAT (2009): 2240

Significant background in the sciences with a Bachelors in Neuroscience and a Masters of Pharmacology, and having completed all of the pre-requisite courses for Medical School and an MCAT score of 512 (87th percentile, 97th percentile in the chemistry/physics portion)

Please feel free to contact me for any of your tutoring needs. I very much look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals and am eager to see you succeed.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Pharmacology

I recently graduated from a Masters of Pharmacology program with a 3.7 GPA. Successful ways to study for this class include coming up with memorable mnemonics and repetition of flash cards and the drawing of diagrams.

SAT Math

I scored a 760 on my SAT Math section, only missing two or three questions on the entire test. I have always excelled in Math and love to help others!
