Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I have been tutoring ACT/SAT since college helping students at different levels of skills to improve their scores through problem-solving and patient guidance. It always pleases me to learn my students could get a better scholarship award because I helped them increase their scores. A bit more about me: I have a PhD in chemical engineering and currently I am pursuing a Master's degree in computer science. I have flexible hours and reasonable rates.

ASVAB

I am an excellent ASVAB MATH tutor. I have tutored many military recruits on how to excel at ASVAB math portion. While my current rate is $40 per hour, I have an special for my ASVAB students. Please ask me about it, you will be glad you asked about it.

Chemical Engineering

I have a BS and a PhD in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. Graduated in Spring 2014, GPA: 3.7/4. I have experience working as a chemical engineer, being a graduate research and teaching assistant (grading home works, problem solving, lecturing) while in graduate school.

Chemistry

I have a solid chemical engineering background and have passed more than 40 credit hours of pure chemistry in my undergraduate career. My favorite chemistry subjects are analytical chemistry and organic chemistry, I am excellent at all general chemistry topics at college level.

Computer Programming

My PhD in chemical engineering involved computational fluid dynamics which is the numerical study of fluid flow. In order to accomplish this project, I wrote 1000s of lines of code in C/C++ and Fortran running them on supercomputers for days. I also had a Pascal language and a C++ language in college and graduate school. I am a very proficient scientific computer programmer.

Farsi

My mother tongue is Farsi. I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. I lived in Iran for about 20 years. I went to college in Tehran, Iran. I have experience teaching the Farsi alphabet and simple sentences to foreign tourists visiting Iran while I was in college in Tehran. I speak English fluently. Furthermore, I have worked as a Persian-to-English translator in both Iran and the U.S.

GRE

When teaching math, I cast a net that connects all geometry, probability and algebra together. All math is connected and no topic should be treated as an island. Students perform better when they can connect dots between different math topics. Further, I teach you neat tricks to solve math problems on GRE faster and accurately, You will have plenty of time on your hands when you reach the end of the test, which you can use to review your answers! You will do %100 in your math if you work with me, I promise! Talk to me.

Praxis

My academic background is in engineering and I have been a teacher for more than 10+ years. About 5 years ago, I started helping Praxis I & II test-takers with the math and science sections of the test in Louisiana, as I saw a rising demand in this field. I offer intensive math study sessions that will immediately increase your score. Praxis math may seem difficult but it's actually as difficult as GRE or ACT, except certain topics in Praxis II. Please contact me with any questions or interest to discuss more.
