“**Great results**”

Hello! I work at the National Institute of Standards of Technology doing fundamental physics research. I have six years of experience as a private tutor in both Math and Physics. I have tutored many students in the New Orleans area as well as many at Maret and other DC area schools. I have also tutored Calculus 1 and 2 at Georgetown.

I have

William tutored my son in calculus during his last semester of high school. My son was able to bring his grades up considerably and ultimately gained more confident in his math skills as he entered college. William was always available to communicate with me throughout the process, was dependable and was able to provide his services in a location that was convenient to us. We could not be more pleased with the results. I highly recommend William.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have privately tutored 2 students in ACT math in the past. Their scores increased significantly. I have also volunteered for Tulane University's Upward Bound Program tutoring an ACT Math class to 4-5 students at a time.

I have been tutoring Algebra 1 since I was a sophomore in high school. I have really fine-tuned my approach to teaching fractions and ratios, which I find is very difficult for most students. I use real world examples to keep students engaged.

I really enjoy tutoring Algebra 2. I have tutored Algebra 2 on numerous occasions. I have also run Algebra 2 review sessions for students struggling in Calculus.

My general strategy is to teach via problems. I will do an example and then help the student through an example.

I have taken calculus 1, 2 and 3. And I have been tutoring calculus since my freshman year of college. My physics background enables me to frame many seemingly abstract concepts in a physical manner. I teach general problem solving skills and approaches and then use problems to test the students progress.

I took Differential Equations a year and a half ago at Tulane University. I have also taken many Physics classes (Classical Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Electromagnetic Theory) that required solving many different types of differential equations. I have tutored sophomore level physics classes that solve Ordinary Differential Equations.

I am currently tutoring two students in Geometry and am thoroughly enjoying it. Geometry is the class that first got me really excited about math. I take a very hands on approach. I focus on drawing pictures neatly, organizing ideas, and breaking problems up into manageable portions.

I have taken an Honors level Linear Algebra class at Tulane University. I have also taken Quantum Mechanics courses which required mastery of Linear Algebra. I am a senior Physics and Math double major at Tulane University.

I have 4 years of experience tutoring Physics. I am a Physics major at Tulane University in my last semester. I have worked for the National Institute of Standards and Technology doing physics research. I find physics infinitely interesting and hope I can help others get excited about it.

I have 4 years of experience tutoring middle school to early high school students who struggle with Math. I use real world examples (money, distances between locations, ... ) to reign in seemingly abstract mathematical concepts.

I took Precalculus in 10th Grade and have been tutoring it on and off ever since. It's so important to get a strong base for Calculus. I tutor via examples and real world applications.

I have a lot of experience teaching individuals as well as groups SAT Math techniques. I focus on teaching the general concepts/formula's and helping students recognize when concepts need to be applied. Note: I will not supply an SAT workbook. Lets get that score up!

Students who do not get a strong Trigonometry base struggle in future math classes. Trig is used throughout Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calc, and Physics. So I take tutoring this subject very seriously. I focus foremost on helping students master the Unit Circle. And then delve into applications/problem solving.
