I've always excelled academically, and I have a passion for sharing that experience with others. There is no greater thrill for me than the satisfaction of a job well-done. While completing both my Bachelor's and Master's of Arts in a single four-year timespan, I learned the value of hard work, time management, and most importantly, having a fantastic support system. I would not have achieved what I did without the help of my teachers and advisors, and now I want to pass that on to others.
My primary tutoring experience is in math up to college level multivariable calculus and statistics, although I am comfortable with nearly all K-12 subjects as well. I use the materials provided by the student's class and teachers as a guide, but I have a talent for explaining things in unconventional ways to help students who have difficulty comprehending traditional definitions and teaching styles. I am dedicated to making sure that students fully understand a concept before moving on to the next.
I do request at least 12 hours' notice of cancellations. For less than that, I charge a $20 cancellation fee. For no-shows, I charge $40, the equivalent of an hour of tutoring.
I am extremely flexible with regards to location. I want my students to be comfortable, wherever that may be.
I can't wait to hear from you and begin your tutoring experience! I've always excelled academically, and I have a passion for sharing that experience with others. I don't think I could've gotten through college biostatistics without Tyler. She explains things really well. She helped me understand the more abstract concepts behind the problems that we worked on, but not in such a convoluted way that it's confusing. I would definitely recommend her!
Tyler has held two sessions with each of my children. She is prompt, engaged, and individualized her style to each of them based on their learning styles. Both have stated they find the tutoring invaluable to ensuring they understand key math concepts!
Tyler was a great tutor and she helped me though my rough patches in Precalc and was very personable. She has a plethora of knowledge, practically knowing my entire class by memory.
Tyler has really helped my daughter understand her Algebra 1 - she is patient and explains the problems thoroughly and clearly. She's very flexible with regard to meeting location and time.
10/10 recommend her. She was so patient and knew every answer and all the minor steps that lead you to them. She was able to help me go from knowing nothing in my stats class to being an A student!! She's awesome.
Tyler helped me mostly around tests and my final. She is easy to communicate with and is patient for students like me whom are not good at math!
Alex thought Tyler was an excellent Math tutor. Very Patient and knowledgeable!
She made the time even during her own finals! Would highly recommend her!
My daughter is doing so well. She leaves Tyler every time with an understanding that she never used to have
she is so great!!! So easy to understand, she doesn't care if you ask to her to repeat stuff over and over again!!! I literally got a 106% on my final because of her!! I highly recommend Tyler!!!
Tyler has been great. I contacted her while in a bad place in Calculus 2, and she was more than willing to help and make sure that I was grasping the concepts. She went over not just my homework, tests, and quizzes, but many practice problems to make sure that I understood the concepts and was prepared for the tests. Thanks to her I was able to finally pass this course after 3 attempts!
Tyler taught me majority of my knowledge of college algebra, I was struggling to keep up with a 6 week express course and after I started meeting with Tyler I was able to get back on track and pass the course, I couldn't have done it without meeting with her. I highly recommend her for mathematics tutoring, very helpful and patient and she will help you understand the material with full clarity.
She taught me Polynomial and Rational Inequalities. I liked that she taught me different ways to look at the problems. She helped me complete my homework with an A grade
She taught me pretty much everything in stats. My teacher was not the greatest but with Tyler's help, she helped me pull my grade up to a solid B at the end of the semester.
Tyler was a great tutor, and very patient. She was always available, courteous and knowledgeable in the subject matter. I would recommend Tyler to anyone who is in need of a tutor. Thanks Tyler for your help.
Tyler showed me tricks on approaching some of the more difficult GRE math problems. I have only had three lessons with her, but feel more prepared to take the GRE already!
Tyler was an outstanding tutor! She is extremely knowledgeable and explains things in such a way to allow for easy understanding! I highly recommend Tyler!
She was great, the best tutor I have had! Very patient and knows how to work out the weirdest of problems.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
