About Edward

If you want to master writing or just need someone to proofread an academic paper few other tutors can offer you the real and concrete lessons that I can. My unique qualifications and actual experience teaching writing to over six hundred students equip me with a set of tools that other teachers just don't have.

As an author with experience writing legal briefs, novels, academic essays, and a former teacher I not only know how to excel as a writer but I also know how to teach others to become better writers.

My two degrees from Sarah Lawrence College and my three years as a teacher at Westside High School in the Houston Independent School District best reveal my dedication as a tutor and teacher. Sarah Lawrence College’s professors were recently selected as the best in the country by the Princeton Review and were honored with this distinction because of their intense commitment to their students. A commitment that I extended to my own students as a teacher.

I will take the time to read every draft of your essays and always show you patience through the writing, and re-writing, process; or help give you strategies and techniques to help you with timed writings for exams such as the AP English Literature Exam.

Any of my former students, their parents, or my former co-workers can tell you the many hours I spent after school and on weekends working with my students to help them improve their writing on their college essays, AP exams, and in class assignments. I did this because I personally feel a moral commitment to the students who pass through my classroom and to help them as much as I can.

And it's the same promise I will make to you if you ask me to be your tutor.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
