Hi! I'm Jackie, and I'm a 3rd year medical student available for tutoring on the weekends and evenings. I graduated with a BA in Biology in 2012 with general honors from the University of Chicago. I love tutoring, and I've helped students of all ages with many subjects over the years, especially math, science, and writing.

Same price for groups of students learning the same subject.
I want to say that Jacqueline has been such a great help and in such a short time that she has been tutoring my 13 year old son who hates all things math.
She was able to help with his summer homework. he is still learning the skills that Jacqueline helped him with, but seems to enjoy doing it. He told me last night that he received a good grade on it (the teacher told the students their grades yesterday).
When it was time for his first Quiz, he actual asked me "can Jackie come back"!! So here we are. great tutor, very flexible & patient!
Choosing Jacqueline for a math tutor was the best decision I made. Jacqueline immediately put me at ease with her extremely patient demeanor and matter of fact approach to the math problems. Step by step, the statistics that seemed impossible were now manageable. Jacqueline had her own way of explaining math that was geared to the student being able to understand and apply this newfound knowledge. She was easy to contact, returned phone calls, and had a flexible schedule. My final grade for statistics was an “A” and I couldn't have earned that grade without Jacqueline's help.
Just want to say Jacqueline is Great!! She helped my with Biology very much. Since her, have not got anything lower than an A. Highly recommend her!!
Jackie is a young energetic tutor. With strong academic background, she is able to help me pronounce and understand English vocabulary in the field of biology and science. Jackie is also very honest and considerate. I’m looking forward to learning more from her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've recently taken a course in Biochemistry at the University of Chicago in spring of my senior year and done well in it.
I majored in Biological Sciences at the University of Chicago, and graduated with general honors this June with a BA.
I love biology, and I have experience helping several students gain a better understanding of the subject.
I took one year of general biology in high school, and four years in college. I took the following courses: Introduction to Life Sciences, Cell Biology (at my previous college, Bard College at Simon's Rock); and at UC I took: Cell and Molecular Biology, Genetics, Organismal Physiology, Developmental Biology, Biodiversity, Organ Transplantation, Animal Models of Human Disease, Endocrinology I, II & III, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry.
I've also been a Teaching Assistant for an introductory biology class at college.
I was a volunteer ESL tutor for an elementary school child in fall and winter of 2010-2011.
I passed my GED in winter of 2008, when I was a freshman at early college (Bard College at Simon's Rock). I have experience helping students (as well as myself) assess their strengths and weaknesses, and discover what they need to focus on to do very well on this test.
I took the Genetics course for biology majors in my sophomore year at the University of Chicago, and received an A.
Genetics was one of my favorite classes in college (and one of the classes that convinced me to become a biology major), and I really enjoyed learning the material.
I have helped several college students do better on their tests in the subject, but also better understand and enjoy the material.
I took the MCAT in September 2011 & received a 34P (12 Physical Sciences, 11 Verbal, 11 Biology).
I'm very experienced with the subject matter - I've taken one or more years of (and have tutored in) General & Organic Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
I prepared myself for the test using review books - I have experience assessing my strengths and weaknesses and finding what I need to focus on to improve my score (which I raised by 10 points). I'm tutoring one other student now, and I'm using what I learned about the test and how to study for it to help others achieve their goals.
I have taken one year of General Physics at college in my junior year and have done well in it.
I also have experience tutoring a student in the subject throughout the course of the year, as a junior. I think practicing with as many problems as possible is the best way to learn physics, and I'm experienced with helping students find their own method of working through each problem, the way that works best for them.
Part of my job for about two years in college was to proofread scientific papers and grant proposals for grammar and clarity. I've also helped college students many times in improving their paper writing, and have great references available.
I took the PSAT as a freshman and as a sophomore in high school and scored a 200 and 228, and I have helped a student in preparing for the test.
I've taken Intro to Psychology at college while I was a junior in high school (I received an A).
I've previously helped a student prepare for the TOEFL test.
