I am a senior at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Computer Science and I have been tutoring mathematics for the past 7 years. I have tutored a variety of students including K-12 and college (both 2-year and 4-year) students. I am a senior at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Computer Science and I have been tutoring mathematics for the past 7 years. I have tutored a variety of students including K-12 and college (both 2-year and 4-year) students. Many of my past and present clients have obtained grades of A's and B's on tests/assignments after only 1 or 2 sessions per week with me. The vast majority of these students began their courses with failing grades and finished their courses with A's.

I love tutoring because I have a passion for the vast, interesting world of mathematics and it brings me immense satisfaction to help others understand (and maybe even like) math. I am unique in a sense when it comes to tutoring because my strategic approach is enforcing the underlying principles of the branch of mathematics that is being studied. Rather than pushing memorization upon students, I instead prefer to aid students in their concrete understanding of the subject as a whole.

If you are currently struggling in any math course, feel free to contact me to schedule our first session. I also offer absolutely free online assistance that covers anything we could not go over in our face-to-face session and any additional questions that were not addressed during our face-to-face session.

Elementary Math,

Elementary Math

I have been tutoring elementary school students for the past 7 years in mathematics. Several of my students were failing their math classes when they came to me initially and I was able to help them truly understand the material and bring their grades up to A's or B's by the end of the school year.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is my absolute strongest subject when it comes to tutoring. I have a unique method for tutoring this subject that has greatly assisted many high school students in understanding how to solve equations. I took the honors version of this course in high school and finished the course with an A. I also tested out of Algebra 1 in my first freshman semester of college.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra II is one of my favorite subjects to teach, because I love being able to introduce "cool" graphs on the xy-plane to my students. I took my high school Algebra II course in a gifted learning environment and I tend to take the same approach as my former Algebra II teacher to tutoring this subject. It involves enforcing the information learned in Algebra I to solidify the concepts in Algebra II, rather than viewing the subjects as "separate". I have tutored many high school students in this subject and I tested out of this subject in my first freshman semester of college.
Calculus,

Calculus

Calculus I, II, and III are my absolute favorite subjects to tutor because I have a love/passion for this subject. I took all three of these courses in college and finished each of them with A's. I have also tutored several high school and college students in these subjects. I have a method for tutoring these subjects that relies on the definitions of the derivative and the integral which implements a greater understanding of the material, opposed to memorization of the material.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I finished my high school Chemistry course and two consecutive college-level Chemistry courses with A's. I am also currently tutoring a high school student in Chemistry who has brought his grade in the course up from a D to an A.
Geometry,

Geometry

I took my high school Geometry course in a gifted learning environment, so this subject was taught to me in a more in-depth manner. I received an A in this high school class and since then I have tutored 2 high school sophomores in Geometry.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I am a qualified tutor in Prealgebra because the large majority of students that I have tutored in the past were 8th grade students taking Prealgebra. One of these students in particular was dyslexic and, with my help, he finished his 8th grade year with all A's.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

Precalculus and Trigonometry are the most common subjects that I have tutored amongst college students. I took a combination Precalculus/Trigonometry course in a gifted learning environment in high school, so I have an in-depth understanding of the fundamental concepts of these subjects. Due to this understanding, I tend to take a very fundamental approach at tutoring these subjects, which has worked tremendously for my students. I also tested out of Precalculus and Trigonometry in my first freshman semester of college.

I scored a 30 on the math portion of the ACT in my junior year of high school. I have tutored several high school students that were preparing for the ACT. One of these students brought their math score up from an 11 to a 23 with my assistance. I have copies of ACT practice tests from the past 10 years that I utilize in my preparation plan for students.

Really helpful and patient tutor!

Lacey is an awesome tutor- what is the most helpful is that she explains the concept in different ways until you understand. She uses visual tools to represent the problems too, which really aids in understanding. She is super patient and friendly as well!

Lacey is the best!!!

I just recently started tutoring with Lacey, she’s super flexible and helpful! She makes time for each person and builds a great relationship with them as well! In the short time I’ve been tutoring with Lacey I have already learned so much. She really takes the time to make sure I understand everything and can tell she wants me to do well! She’s super good at answering every question I have and goes in depth and explains why things are. If I don’t understand something, Lacey will make sure she explains it in different ways until I understand. She’s also knows her stuff and is helpful with all topics I’ve faced! Lacey’s a great tutor and that’s why I will always go to her for any help I need! I haven’t found anyone better than her!
