About Paul

I am a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a BS in Atmospheric Sciences and a Minor in Mathematics. I have over 10 years of math tutoring experience throughout high school and college. I am comfortable with all middle and high school math, and basic college level math courses including Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, and Calculus I. These many years of tutoring throughout high school and college have allowed me to be able to recall and teach most basic concepts directly from memory.

I also have teaching experience as a permanent math substitute and full-time teacher on the middle school & high school level.

I am open to any math tutoring jobs in Greater Tulsa.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I was successful with ACT Math as a high school student, achieving a score of 32 (maximum 36) on two separate occasions. I am familiar the main concepts that are likely to be evaluated on the test. However, I request that prospective students have an ACT Math practice workbook for me to practice with him or her.

Algebra 1

I tutored Algebra I as a high school tutor, but it is still fresh through my tutoring of college-level Algebra and through my constant use of algebra applications in a Math minor curriculum.

Algebra 2

I am very strong with all levels of Algebra.

Calculus

Calculus I is one of my strongest subjects. I have plenty of experience tutoring this subject while in college. I am very strong with most concepts up to integration, including limits and differentiation.

Elementary Math

Although most of my tutoring experience is with higher-level math students, I am confident in correcting any errors a younger student is making in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Geometry

I am very familiar and strong with the algebra applications needed to succeed in Geometry.

Prealgebra

I am able to bridge the necessary elements of fundamental math to the basic concepts needed for success in Algebra.

Precalculus

I am able to bridge the advanced concepts of Algebra with the fundamental skills needed for Calculus.

Probability

I am able to convey the basic fundamentals of theoretical, experimental, conditional, independent, and dependent probability for a student's understanding.

Statistics

Elementary Statistics was the subject I tutored the most frequently as a college tutor.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry was my strongest subject as a high school student. I am very experienced and comfortable tutoring it on both the high school and college levels.

Very Helpful

This tutor helped me a lot, and he was very patient! He started teaching me the basic skills for Algebra and Geometry. He also taught me a brand new study skill. I really enjoyed his tutoring session.
