My passion for design started as a child. Sometimes when I had a day off from school, I had to go to work with my mother. She was the head of the display department at a local department store. There, I was introduced to the art of sign making. It was fun spending my day setting type, inking up the type and making signs. My art interest continued with various art classes like painting and photography which lead to a summer job with a photo journalist. Throughout high school and college, I worked with the local photojournalist introducing me to art direction of photo shoots for various ads and print media. College introduced me to layout and design and I fell in love.
I've been working primarily in the print industry for 20 years. My client base is vast from novice to experienced. My position has allowed me to teach my novice customers how to use software and set up files while share knowledge with my experienced customers. Also, I've had educational conferences for our agency clients welcoming new designers to their staff. I love to help people learn the tools to express their artistic talents.
My professional position helped me develop extensive knowledge in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat. I use the latest version and have a long history of using design applications. I've spent hours mastering Photoshop clipping paths and color correction. I will be able to lead you in the right direction in setting up your file for production.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
