About Rebecca

I love teaching due to my lifelong love of learning. As a law school graduate, I know that hard work and dedication to learning can pay off. As a teaching professional and tutor for eight years, I have had the pleasure of helping countless students realize their potential through improved grades and test scores. This is the most rewarding career!

I possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and a Juris Doctorate. I am a well-rounded leader with excellent communication, research, reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. I specialize in tutoring communications, reading, writing, critical thinking, english, criminal justice, law, social studies, literature, science, and standardized and GED test prep. I have a passion for helping students with grammar, spelling, proofreading, and vocabulary. I am familiar with and possess teaching strategy for Common Core and Common Knowledge programs.

No matter the goal for each session, the overall mission is to keep the student challenged, actively involved in learning, but not overwhelmed. I assign tasks following each lesson, and provide periodic assessments and progress reports to gauge progress and ensure goals are met. I believe that academic successes promote further academic growth. I use the student materials required of their academic program and incorporate outside resources, tools, and techniques to bolster and strengthen understanding of the material at hand.

I am an outstanding tutor because I have spent my lengthy college and professional career focused on core subject areas and mastering preparedness and attention to detail with skills necessary for academic success. I am committed to helping students learn and grow. I have a talent helping struggling learners reach their full potential, as I have a child with ADHD and dysgraphia and teach to her needs in all subject areas.

I hold myself to a high standard. I work well with all ages and drive for results and confidence building. I often ask for feedback and updates on school performance and outcomes.

While I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, I offer makeup sessions. I try to be flexible, as I understand that every student has commitments outside of coursework and that these commitments are important. I tutor online and travel to other locations if preferred.

I encourage you to contact me for assistance with your studies and look forward to providing the support and tips necessary to do the very best!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bar Exam

I successfully passed the Louisiana bar exam on the first attempt. I graduated law school with an overall 3.3 grade point average and undergraduate school program in Criminal Justice with overall grade point average of 3.2. I have been practicing law for more than ten years and am in good standing with the Bar Association.

I wish she taught me in law school!

Rebecca is as excited about the material as I am. She is patient and very knowledgable. Not only was she able to answer all of my questions, but she brought up additional issues that are necessary for my success on the bar.
