About Kathy

I am a retired special education teacher with 25 years in Jefferson Parish. My passion is working with the special needs student; however, I do work with regular education students that are struggling. I am patient and can spend hours working on the same skills--I simply back up and try a different approach. I have helped special education students achieve when others have given up on the student. I have work experience with the mild/moderate population, autistic, and emotionally disturbed students.

I work one-on-one with the student on missing skills or weekly homework. I specialize in organizational skills, remedial reading, written language and remedial math skills. I feel students do better if they are on a schedule and know that I will help them with specific things during our time together.

I can come to your home only if adults are present. I also will meet older students in a public place.
