About Charlotte

I received my B.A. degree in 1993 from NLU, which is now known as ULM. In 1999, I went back and got an Add-on Early Interventionist-Birth to Five degree. I taught Non-categorical Preschool in Morehouse Parish for 11 years, and was a Pre-K Director/Teacher in Arkansas for 1 1/2 years. I moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi where I was the Special Education Homebound Teacher for 8 years for the Forrest County School District. I later moved to Mandeville, Louisiana and worked as a Special Education 1st and 2nd grade Mild/Moderate Teacher and Early Childhood Special Education Teacher.

As a home-bound teacher, I was able to teach children from the early ages of three to students through twelfth grade. I have loved all of my teaching jobs, but I especially loved my home-bound job because it allowed me the opportunity to work with students one-on-one. It also allowed me the opportunity to work closely with the families of these students.

When I was in school, I had an outstanding English teacher. I feel that English is very important in enabling one to accomplish learning skills in any other subject matter.

I strive to make learning fun for my students.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
