About David

I earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in physical sciences in 2014 and 2016. During graduate school, I taught computer mapping (Geographic Information Systems) to undergraduate students for a year. In this role I instructed undergraduate students in the quantitative methods of computer-based mapping for environmental science. I also completed graduate coursework in statistics, biology, and ecology. In addition to my experience in STEM subjects, I also am an accomplished writer. I completed independent research projects for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees, where I wrote lengthy reports about my research. I currently work full time as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist, and continue teaching part time.

I have 1 year of college- level statistics course, 1 year of graduate-level statistics coursework. I frequently apply statistics in my job (Chi square tests are particularly useful in my field!).

I hold a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science, and work professionally as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist.

I pride myself on my writing abilities, and wrote undergraduate and graduate thesis documents, which are designed to communicate complex scientific issues.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

GIS

I taught GIS to undergraduate students at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2014 and 2016. I also use GIS on a day to day basis for my job. I studied GIS and an undergraduate, and continue to use it in my job for analyzing wildlife conservation in the Gulf of Mexico.
