My interest in teaching began with my mother, who was a Librarian, English, French and American History teacher. I am a retired teacher, counselor and administrator. I retired at 54 with 34 years. Since then, I found myself missing the educational setting especially working with children.
Substituting at my grandchildren's school has been fulfilling, but not as much as directly working with one child. As a single mother part of my career I tutored many students in various subjects. The joy I experienced when I saw the light come on in a child's face is indescribable. I look forward to have that experience many, many more times.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education. I taught 3-5th grade for 8 years. I have tutored many students from K-8 throughout my 34 year career in education. I employ various multisensory methods including visual, kinesthetic and oral activities to reinforce concepts and skills during my tutoring sessions. I love children and will work diligently to ensure their success .
