Hello,

I love to teach and help people grow. This trait is my key qualification.

I have taught psychology at the undergraduate, graduate, and advanced internship levels. Learners have included those working towards bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, and psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and professional counselors. Ratings from my students and protégés unfailingly suggest appreciation, learning, and growth.

I love teaching and helping people in general. The process brings me a higher sense of purpose.
I am a life-long learner. I have an undergraduate degree, two master's degrees in psychology (counseling and clinical), and a doctorate in clinical psychology as well as a post-doctoral master's degree in clinical psychopharmacology.

My metaphor for teaching is that it is a journey, but not my journey. It is the student's journey, and I am their trusted guide. My clients point to their destination, and I help them get there. Besides a witness to their journey, I help them navigate the terrain in an efficient manner, pointing out important things they are missing along the way. I listen carefully.

As fellow journeyman and guide, it is important that I am in their shoes but also be outside of them enough to have objectivity and the willingness to be a good "President's Adviser," one willing to tell my clients what they need hear instead of what they want to hear.

I am successful with most students.

I hope I can help you too.

The effective teaching process involves, first, a solid teacher-student relationship. It is a collaboration. No two learners are the same. If the working alliance between the two is not warm, flexible and solid, the outcome will be compromised regardless of expertise in the subject matter.

Again, I have a passion for teaching. My learning is deliberately life-long.

If you need help with psychology courses and understanding the concepts therein, I want to help you.

Thinking now, I can know I can help with intro, general, advanced general, abnormal, personality, social, child, adolescent, and developmental, family, group, clinical, counseling, professional, and other psychology courses. (Maybe more, but these are my favorites.)

I can tell you this with absolute conviction – The ways I have mastered an understanding of the human mind are by the following:

1. Being curious.
2. Possessing a passion to learn.
3. Teaching others - bringing seemingly complex concepts to life and applicable to the real world.
4. Having dedicated teachers and mentors.

I endeavor to help you understand Pavlov's Dogs, Skinner's Box, compelling social psychology experiments, Freud's deep and penetrating understanding of our psyches, the maladies of the mentally disordered and even to the "normal" neurotic person, like us, our families, and our friends. Leaning the psychology of ourselves and others is Infinite.( I can never he fully realized.)

I have openings for a few students. Bring your curiosity; that's all we need.

(But I am just a normal guy. I was there too, where you are now.)

Thank you.

Respectfully yours,

~Chris
