Southern University and A & M College (English Secondary Ed)
I have been tutoring all ages since I was in middle school. I was also a tutor at Baton Rouge Community College in English, Writing, & Study skills when I attended there. I am a senior currently at Southern University with a major in English Secondary Education and I cannot wait to start teaching! I also plan on going to graduate school to obtain my Masters so I can teach at a college level. I have a passion to teach, motivate, & inspire others to become their absolute best & to also help them become better role models in society. On top of being a former tutor on the college level, I have tutored individuals of all ages throughout the years. I have tutored privately in English, Writing, ACT prep, study skills, & as well as other topics such as Reading, Science, & Math in lower grade levels. I aim to inspire others & push them so they can be the best they can be within themselves.
I used to be a Mass Communications major and in that curriculum, it was said you have to be fluent in one language. I chose Spanish. I have 5 years in that language counting two years in high school.
I have been an outstanding English student ever since I can remember. In 3rd grade, I received an award for being second place in the Summer Reading Program in Louisiana for reading 100 books over the summer as well as writing 100 summaries for those books. After that, I continued in the program all until I was too old to join. I have also submitted pieces when I was in high school to magazine publications and journals in poetry, song writing, and fiction pieces. In two of my writings, I received a submission of the book with my piece in it.
As for ACT prep, I attended this ACT prep summer class at Southern University when I was a junior in high school which helped me strengthen my ACT skills and improve my speed on those tests. I also have helped other students gain knowledge on test taking skills to enhance their performance on ACT and as well as become better test takers on general. Proofreading is something I can honestly say I truly enjoy. I am very open in giving feedback to others as well as providing that learning stretch for me. I love helping others on making it the best paper they can get it, as well as work one on one giving that student independent time to work with me on their papers.
If you have any questions about anything, please message me. I will be looking forward to your e-mail! I have been tutoring all ages since I was in middle school. I was also a tutor at Baton Rouge Community College in English, Writing, & Study skills when I attended

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
