About Nikita

I have been tutoring for the past 6 years, and have taught a variety of students of different levels and ages. My goal is to create positive learning atmosphere for every student, and at the same time - to provide each student with best possible education.

I incorporate many different teaching methods, based on the needs and the goals of individual students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have taken and completed many courses at Rider University from the department of Mathematics, as well as mathematics related courses from the department of MBA (Masters of Business Administration). I have additionally worked as a tutor in "Math Skills Lab" at Rider University. Currently, I am a PhD student at Louisiana State University.

Current PhD student at Louisiana State University, looking to help students, who need assistance with Algebra 2 and related material. Ear Training

I have a BM (Bachelor of Music) in Music Theory & Composition. I have taken many musicology, theory, and solfegio courses, all of which provide high level of ear training.

I have had experience in tutoring students for AP theory exams, ABRSM exams, College Prep. exams, and other exams, where ear training is applied.

Piano

I am currently a PhD student at Louisiana State University, majoring in Music Theory. I received my MM (Master of Music) in Piano Performance and Pedagogy and my BM (Bachelor of Music) in Piano & Music Theory from Rider University.

I have experience teaching all types of students of different ages and levels. Some of my students play piano for pleasure, as a hobby, while others are more serious and perform in concerts, recitals, and competitions. My main goal is to make sure that all of my students enjoy making music as well as improve in their musical abilities on piano.

I regularly perform solo concerts, as well as chamber music concerts. My recent performances occurred throughout New Jersey, New York, and Maine.

I am originally from St. Petersburg, Russia. I have lived in Russia for 12 years, before moving to the United States. Russian is my native language; I can fluently write, read, and communicate in Russian.

I have had experience of teaching Russian for the past 4 years. I have had a variety of students of different ages and different levels. I have also briefly taught in a Russian based school in 2013.
