I am an aspiring Elementary Education Teacher who wants to make a difference in the lives of students. I am a senior at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) with an expected graduation day of May 2020. I have worked with small group instruction that helped students to gain a conceptual understanding of mathematical procedures. I have also assisted in reading, writing, speaking, and listening tutoring sessions. I have a passion for educating and assisting students with materials that they find difficult or challenging. I like to plan my lessons so that they are engaging, fun, and educational.

My favorite part about tutoring is working with students and seeing the information click for the first time. The smiles on their faces is what makes my job so rewarding. I try my best to accommodate the needs of diverse learners. I understand that all learners are culturally diverse and require differentiated instruction in order to be successful academically. Working with children is a passion that I have always obtained. My goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of students. I am patient, understanding, and will help your student in any area that he or she needs.

I am able to scaffold students' thought processes and help them solve problems for themselves. I also believe that students are constructivists and are creators of their own knowledge. Students will make connections to real life situations using their mathematical concepts. I am patient when working with students in order to be able to better assess their strengths and weaknesses.

English has always been a passion of mine. I have received a 28 on the English portion of the ACT test. I have also worked with multiple students in order to get them to understand important writing, grammar and usage, and sentence structure techniques. I create my lesson plans to be engaging and worthwhile. Students participate in Reader's Theater. During Reader's Theater the students are able to become the characters in order to feel the emotions that are meant to be felt throughout a story. I also guide students' thought processes when it pertains to sequencing their writings.

I value diverse learners and understand that all students need to feel comfortable, understood, and valued in order to succeed academically. I strive to achieve success with of my students and will work hard to ensure that they receive a quality session with every lesson. I also want my students to understand that when they do not always succeed the first time, I will encourage them to try again. Failure is a apart of the learning process. However, once we work together to resolve the problems that have been occurring, we can begin our path to success.
