I'm a philosophy student, tutor, and research assistant at Eastern Kentucky University. I love teaching and tutoring! I'm currently focusing on graduate school work in order to fulfill my dream of teaching at the professional level. I'm set to graduate this summer with a 3.9 GPA. I've worked extensively as a research assistant and have more than three years experience as a tutor for college level work in various fields, including percussion studies, philosophy, and analytic writing and reading.

3.9 GPA, research assistant to Eastern Kentucky University's Chair of Philosophy, 3+ years experience as a philosophy tutor, have presented research and spoken at philosophy conferences

As a Philosophy student, reading and writing are paramount to your success. As with any profession, one's ability to decipher large amounts of (sometimes) dense literature, filled with unfamiliar jargon, is vital. Not only are these skills necessary for one's success in academia and the workforce, but are intrinsically valuable skills to possess. Further, writing analytically is another crucial skill that philosophers constantly strive to perfect. As with the ability to read at a high level, writing is also extremely important to one's success in academia and the workforce. The ability to clearly and concisely convey your ideas, concepts, and beliefs to someone else in the form of writing is invaluable. As a philosopher and research assistant, I have cultivated both skills at a professional level.

Before philosophy, I studied percussion studies at Eastern Kentucky University. I learned to perform, read, and dissect music ranging across all percussion instruments. I have also performed with a World Class WGI percussion group where I marched snare drum for the 2017 winter season.

I'm extremely excited to get work for anyone who's looking for help! I'm very flexible, easy going, and eager to help!

Personable, attentive, highly recommend!

Lance returned messages very timely and with great support when we set up tutoring for our college daughter's Philosophy course. They "went over truth tables, logical equivalences, and the various rules assigned to propositions. They also looked into different techniques one can use to assess the validity of an argument." Lance has a personable teaching style and we highly recommend him!
