Lindsey Wilson College (Health and PE Ed)
Eastern Kentucky University (Master's)
I am graduating from Lindsey Wilson College in May with a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education. I will be pursuing my master's degree at Eastern Kentucky University this summer in Safety, Security and Emergency Management. During my time at Lindsey Wilson College I was a student athlete on the softball team and a supervisor with the Intramural sports program. I completed my student teaching at Caverna Independent Middle/High School, Adair County Primary Center and Green County High School.
While studying at Lindsey Wilson College I gained experience in both tutoring and teaching. I assisted students in Health and Physical Education related classes at the Tutoring services center at the college. I also have established experience in teaching due to not only teaching in the surrounding schools for multiple opportunities throughout by four years, but also my peers during my college credits.
After working with the youth and peers throughout the Columbia, Kentucky community, I have been able to gain experience in public speaking that gives me a distinguished edge in this field. Being able to practice talking in front of a group every day has benefited me in feeling confident in what I teach and present. Vocabulary has always been a strong category for me and I am always receiving compliments on not only my vocabulary usage but spelling and grammar.
I completed half of my student teaching at a Primary Center and taught multiple lessons at Adair County Elementary school. I also volunteered at the Elementary School tutoring at their after school program. During my years in elementary school, I had an excellent teaching for handwriting. Therefore, with my penmanship and ability to utilize his teaching habits, I can be successful in that field as well.
I have participated in softball at an early age of seven. I made the decision to continue my softball career at Lindsey Wilson College where I played for three and a half years at the collegiate level.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
