Hello and welcome to my tutoring link. I am a 45 year old mother of 3 highly intelligent children. Although I have never obtained a job in tutoring or achieved a teaching degree, I have helped my children with their homework for the last 15 years. I took Child Care Services in 1987 where I learned how to teach children lesson plans and worked briefly with classrooms in kindergarten and first grade. This gave me first hand experience with finding ways to break down information in order to make it presentable and easy.
In high school I first had an algebra teacher that was fast paced and hard for me to follow. I spoke to my counselor who then put me in the same class with a different instructor. Suddenly learning algebra became fun and easy. I learned that there are many learning techniques and people are able to pick and choose from the way they learn best. While I cannot force anybody to learn, I am confident that if a person is willing then I am able to teach what I know. While attending college at University of Louisville for a short time, my cousin taught me simple skills about how to learn, proof read, prepare for tests, take effective notes, choose simple but meaningful sentence structure, use a thesaurus, and implement critical thinking in writing essays. I would like to share some of those techniques with others.
Because I am new to this program, I do not yet know what to expect. I am an honest and ethical person. If you are not satisfied with my methods of teaching we can discuss other methods or possible refunds for service provided. I am sure that good communication can resolve any unforeseen obstacles we may encounter. Even though I am not certified I feel like I have a lot to offer at a reasonable rate. So if you are looking for general tutoring, help with writing essays, or help in algebra give me a shot. I think you will be pleased with the service I provide.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
