I'm Chelsea and I love working one on one with students. I feel like that is very important in a child's education. Sadly, teachers don't have enough time in the day to spend one on one time with each student. My goal is to first help the student feel more confident in the subject they are struggling with. I believe that is the first step in the learning process. You must love what you are doing before you can be good at it. I also love making learning fun, it must be enjoyable for the student to get them interested in the subject. I like to use games and visuals to get the point across.
A little back ground history, I graduated from Johnson Central High School in 2010. I have worked in the Johnson County School system as an after school aid at WR Castle elementary school. While there I was able to work one on one with students from grades K-6. I also subbed at many of the elementary schools in the county. I am currently going back to school to get my counseling degree in hopes to one day be a school counselor. I am also currently working at Nordin Eye Center in Paintsville, KY.

I am an outstanding reading tutor because I like to find books that the student is interested in. Relate it back to their lives, get them involved.
I like to play a "spelling bump" game that makes learning their spelling words fun & exciting.
I am excited & eager to start this journey with you! We will have fun learning all the topics you might be struggling with. Dont give up!! I'm Chelsea and I love working one on one with students. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
